As 2025 draws to a close, the Maritzburg College Old Boys’ Association (MCOBA) looks back on a year filled with connection, achievement, and enduring College spirit. From the roar of Reunion weekend, where brothers young and old gathered to relive memories and celebrate our shared heritage, to branch functions across South Africa and around the world that strengthened lifelong bonds, this year has been a reminder that the red, black and white link we share truly lasts “Five Years for Life.” Through every “Jimeloyo” and handshake abroad, OCs have upheld the values instilled in us at College: loyalty, camaraderie, and pride.
Our Old Boys have also made us proud beyond the social gatherings, contributing in meaningful ways to the life of the school and each other. Whether welcoming the Class of 2025 into the ranks of MCOBA during our annual induction, supporting College initiatives such as solar infrastructure and networking platforms like CollegeConnect, or marking significant milestones together, the commitment of OCs to Maritzburg College endures and grows. The support shown through mentorship, professional connections, and generous contributions exemplifies the true spirit of our brotherhood, helping shape not only the future of College but the futures of each other.
As we move into the year ahead, we give thanks to every Old Boy who stayed connected, in person or in spirit, and to the staff, families, and boys of College who continue to make our community remarkable. Here’s to another year of stories, success, and the lifelong pride of being an OC.
